Research Associate – Engineer

Position: Research Associate 2 – Engineer
Location: Northern

Research Associate 2 ‐ Engineer in the College of Engineering (COE), Center for Automotive Research (CAR) who conducts research in the experimental areas of connected and automated vehicles and automated driving systems, as well as applying new and emerging technologies enabled by advanced sensing, V2X, vehicle localization, hardware in the loop and in-vehicle testing technologies; works with CAR faculty, staff, researchers, students and industry partners to develop and carryout research experiments and support sponsored research;

extracts and analyzes experimental research results and prepares technical reports for sponsors reviews; prepares and presents papers/reports; writes, edits and/or approves progress and technical reports for sponsors; edits research results for publication and presentation; assists in identifying, writing and preparing proposals to pursue new funding opportunities; develops task lists, time lines, and budgets for research projects; attends relevant internal and external research meetings;

supports teaching and training in electrified vehicle technologies.## Additional Information:

Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or relevant degree  Experience

Required:

2 years’ experience in an engineering research capacity is required; ability to translate, adapt and apply academic and/or practical knowledge to the conduct of engineering research; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work dynamically in a diverse team environment.  Desired:experience in an academic research capacity; ability to independently meet research goals, solve problems, and develop scientific ideas.  

The target hiring range for this job profile is $70,100- $91,600. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.##
