Food Service Worker

Swisher Memorial Healthcare System is seeking a PRN food service worker who can contribute to our culture of providing superior healthcare services to the communities we serve.

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Food-handling certification as required by state regulations
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic and understand measurements and conversions
• Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, peers, residents, patients, and guests
• Working knowledge of computers and software used in the position
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays

Under the direct supervision of the Nutritional Services Supervisor, the food service worker will:

• Prepare and serve food and beverages to hospital patients and residents
• Prepare salad items, hot and cold foods, and desserts
• Clean work areas, equipment, and utensils Responsibilities

  • Assist with setup, service, and garbage or trash collection
  • Assemble and serve food to hospital staff and customers
  • Complete other assigned duties as required
