Pinewood Square, a community of Navion Senior Living located in Goose Creek, SC, is seeking a cook to assist in the preparation, oversight, and serving of meals. Our cooks are responsible for delivering top-notch food service in a high-quality, cutting-edge Assisted Living Community. The successful candidate will employ their culinary and managerial skills in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our resident's satisfaction.

This is a Full-Time opportunity to join a great work team! EVERY OTHER WEEKEND REQUIRED! A qualified candidate will have a minimum of 1 year of experience in senior housing cooking and will be familiar with DPH regulations!

• Maintains a current Serv Safe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become Serv Safe certified
• High School diploma or GED accepted
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred
• One (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
• Must be 16 years or older. In NC, must be 18 years or older if operating power-driven machines such as a meat slicer, mixer, etc.
• Three years’ experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred
• Culinary arts experience preferred
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment

Ability to prepare palatable foods that are appetizing in appearance

Knowledge of safety and sanitary requirements

Ability to learn basic tasks and follow written and verbal instructions

Pleasant, friendly and helpful at all times ensuring proper and timely service

Well-groomed and ability to follow dress requirements
