Speciality Coffee Baristas Rize Up Bakery

Rize Up Bakery is opening its very first Test Kitchen Cafe and we’re looking for part-time and full-time baristas to join us. We will be working closely with Ritual Coffee which means you’ll receive second to none training from the get go!

Our Baristas are responsible for preparing exceptional coffee and espresso beverages while delivering thoughtful, welcoming hospitality. This role combines technical coffee skills with genuine customer service to create a memorable café experience. Baristas maintain high standards of quality, consistency, and cleanliness while actively contributing to a collaborative and positive café environment.

Pay is $22 per hour + tips

• Hospitality & Customer Experience
  • Welcome guests warmly and create an inviting café environment
  • Engage customers with genuine hospitality and thoughtful service
  • Guide guests through the menu and share knowledge about coffee origins, flavor profiles, and brewing methods
  • Create a memorable experience that reflects the café’s values and commitment to quality
• Coffee & Beverage Preparation
  • Prepare espresso beverages and brewed coffee with precision and consistency
  • Dial in espresso throughout the shift to maintain optimal flavor and extraction
  • Steam milk with proper texture and temperature for espresso drinks
  • Follow recipes and standards for all beverages
  • Maintain a clean and organized coffee bar during service
• Coffee Knowledge & Craft
  • Develop a working knowledge of coffee origins, producers, processing methods, and seasonal offerings
  • Taste and evaluate coffees to maintain quality standards
  • Maintain brewing equipment and ensure accurate grind settings and recipes
  • Demonstrate curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about coffee
• Operational Responsibilities
  • Operate POS system and handle transactions accurately
  • Maintain cleanliness of the café, workstations, and guest areas
  • Restock coffee, milk, cups, retail items, and other supplies
  • Assist with opening, closing, and daily operational tasks
• Equipment Care
  • Clean and maintain espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other coffee equipment
  • Follow daily and weekly cleaning procedures
  • Monitor equipment performance and report maintenance needs
• Team Collaboration
  • Work collaboratively with teammates to maintain efficient service during busy periods
  • Communicate clearly and support a positive team environment
  • Contribute to a culture of respect, curiosity, and shared learning

• Passion for coffee and hospitality
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Willingness to learn and develop coffee skills
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
• Availability for mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed

• Previous specialty coffee or barista experience
• Experience dialing in espresso and preparing manual brew methods
• Familiarity with coffee tasting and flavor evaluation
• Experience with POS systems and cash handling
