Our Starbucks Coffeehouse will be at the heart of that experience, serving as a neighborhood gathering place for theater patrons, artists, students, entrepreneurs, families, community partners, and visitors. With live entertainment, special events, and a distinctive lifestyle brand experience, this will be a Starbucks unlike any other.
We are looking for a Shift Lead who wants to help build something from the ground up and be part of a team creating a new model for what a community coffeehouse can be.
Position SummaryThe Starbucks Shift Lead is a frontline leader responsible for helping bring the Forest Theater Starbucks experience to life. This role supports daily coffeehouse operations, leads assigned shifts, develops team members, and ensures that every guest receives an exceptional experience consistent with Starbucks Licensed Store standards and Forest Theater hospitality expectations.
You will have the opportunity to help shape the culture, service standards, and guest experience of a brand-new coffeehouse while working in a dynamic environment that combines coffee, live entertainment, culture, and community.
What You’ll DoLead the Shift
Lead daily shift execution while supporting baristas and maintaining service, safety, and operational standards. Coordinate workflow, support staffing needs, oversee opening and closing procedures, and help foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.
Create Exceptional Guest Experience
Make every guest feel welcome, valued, and part of the Forest Theater community. Deliver exceptional hospitality, maintain a warm and energetic atmosphere, resolve customer concerns, and support theater patrons, artists, donors, entrepreneurs, students, and community members.
Deliver Starbucks Quality
Support Starbucks beverage and food quality standards through product preparation, food safety compliance, inventory organization, cleanliness, and operational consistency.
Develop Your Team
Assist with onboarding, coaching, training, and developing baristas. Help team members build confidence and skills while creating a culture centered on connection, belonging, teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
Bring the Experience to Life
Our coffeehouse will be integrated into a vibrant cultural destination with live entertainment and special programming. Support performances, educational programs, donor events, grand opening activities, community celebrations, and special activations through hospitality leadership and service coordination.
What We’re Looking For- High School Diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum six months of customer service experience
- Minimum six months of leadership, supervisory, or team coordination experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead by example and motivate others
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events
- Starbucks experience
- Coffeehouse, café, restaurant, or hospitality experience
- Event venue experience
- Community engagement experience
- Cash handling experience
- Serv Safe Food Handler Certification
- Experience training, coaching, or developing team members
