General
Purpose:
Assists servers in providing efficient service by delivering orders from the kitchen to guests and keeping BOH areas clean, organized and stocked. Creates memorable dining experiences through personalized and genuine interactions.
- Assures that all material used by server and expeditor is clean and ready for daily operation.
- Possesses knowledge of the position of eachdiner’schair in the dining rooms and lounges.
- Sets the outside line with under liner plates, flatware, doilies, linennapkinsand any other items needed for thedeliveringof food.
- Organizes the plates in the window and matches each one with each ticket to run the food out to the tables.
- Sets tablesin accordance withfacilitystandards.
- Answer guests’ questions about ingredients and menu items.
- Inform restaurant staff about customers’ feedback or requests (e.g.when they ask for the check)
- Ensures that each menu item is prepared in the exact detail outlined on each ticket.
- Delivers food orders from the kitchen to customers’ tables rapidly and accurately
- Corrects the menu item with the chef or expeditor before delivering the menu itemto meetthe exact specification on the ticket. Removes any placesettingsnot being used.
- Clears dishes located in front of guest upon completion of course.
- Keepswork station swell stocked of items and ingredients.
- Cleans workstations, takes out trash, and vacuums the dining room.
- Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
- Regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as required.
High school education;or up toone month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Requirements:
Previous experience as aFood Runner or similar entry-level role in a restaurant.
Physical Demands:
Frequently stands, walks, talks and hears. Frequentlyuseshands. Regularly reaches with arms and hands. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches,tastesor smells. Frequently lifts upto 10 pounds and
regularly
liftsup to 50 pounds. Regularly carries trays above the head with plates of food out to tables in the dining room and lounge area
Occasionally works in wet or humid conditions (non-weather); maycome into contact withfumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
- Serv Safe Certified (Food Handler & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent.
Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:
- Ability to read and speak English may berequiredin order toperform the duties of the job (e.g.the associates maybe required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
