Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cook to join our team at Marlora Post Acute Rehabilitation Hospital in Long Beach, California. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a wide variety of foods for our residents/patients, employees, and visitors. You will plan and coordinate meal services, ensuring that all food is prepared according to menus and recipes, and that mealtime schedules are met.

• Prepare and cook a wide variety of foods for residents/patients, employees, and visitors
• Plan and coordinate meal services to meet mealtime schedules
• Prepare food according to menus and recipes, and ensure that all food is served safely and attractively
• Direct other Food and Nutrition Services employees in the absence of the Food Service Director and Assistant Food Service Director/Chef Manager
• Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, adhering to sanitation regulations and practices
• Perform related duties and cleaning duties, as assigned
• Collaborate with Food Service Director and Assistant Food Service Director/Chef Manager to ensure effective food service operations

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Experience in commercial/volume food preparation required
• Serve-Safe Certification required
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the spoken English language
• Must provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by state law and in accordance with Company policy
• Strong knowledge of volume food production methods and techniques, sanitation regulations and practices, and food-related nutrition principles
• Ability to positively interact with residents/patients and solve operational problems in absence of Food Service Director and Assistant Food Service Director/Chef Manager

• Competitive hourly rate: $23 - $25 per hour
