Summary:
We are looking for a curious and like-minded individual to become part of our front-of-house team as a Part-Time Captain ated in Palo Alto, Kappo is an intimate 12-seat chef’s counter offering a tasting experience inspired by California's landscape. We offer a cutting edge menu, with all steps of service included in Michelin dining level experiences. Kappo has goals to reach for the highest level of achievement and only accepts applicants who hold themselves to these standards.

Essential Functions:
- Experience in fine dining as a Captain, ideally in Michelin-starred establishments.
- Desire to learn, discuss, and execute Kappo’s food, wine, and steps of service.
- Lead counter, ensuring flawless timing, multi-course pacing, and personalized guest interaction.
- Guide guests through the menu by sharing stories of pristine ingredient sourcing, foraging, and culinary techniques with enthusiasm and precision.
- Working knowledge of food safety principles and procedures.
- Ability to acquire a valid California Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hiring.
- Well-groomed and strictly follow Kappo’s uniform and appearance standards.
- Required weekend availability (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
- Strong beverage knowledge with a solid foundation in wine, sake, and cocktail pairings.
