Halloween and New Year's Eve are anything but ordinary at Hard Rock Hotel San Diego. The energy is high, the dining room is buzzing, and guests are here to celebrate.
As a Temporary Server Assistant, you'll be an essential part of the team behind the experience. You'll work closely with Servers, Hosts, and the entire restaurant team to keep service flowing, tables ready, and guests taken care of throughout the night.

Your MissionSupport the Server and restaurant team by keeping the dining room organized, stocked, clean, and guest-ready while helping deliver seamless service during two of the biggest celebration nights of the year.
What You'll Do- Support Servers and Hosts with food and beverage service as needed.
- Provide attentive water service and maintain water levels throughout the guest experience.
- Clear, clean, and reset tables efficiently while maintaining company standards for presentation, safety, and sanitation.
- Crumb tables as directed by the Server and ensure tables are always guest-ready.
- Transport and properly sort dirty tableware from the dining room to the designated dish drop area.
- Keep service stations fully stocked and organized with silverware, linen, condiments, and other necessary supplies.
- Wipe down booths and chairs, move tables and chairs as needed, and keep floors and surrounding areas clean.
- Fold napkins, polish silver, replenish condiments, and maintain organized side stands throughout each shift.
- Keep the dining room, waiting areas, and service areas clean, stocked, and visually appealing.
- Respond promptly and graciously to guest needs and communicate concerns to the appropriate Server or Manager on Duty.
- Assist with special cleaning projects and additional tasks as needed to keep the operation running smoothly.
- Maintain constant communication and teamwork with Servers, Hosts, Managers, and fellow Curators.
- Conduct yourself professionally at all times, understanding that every action and interaction is part of the guest experience.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment where things can change quickly.
- Move quickly but gracefully and understand the importance of timing during service.
- Have an eye for detail and take pride in keeping your station and dining room looking their best.
- Communicate clearly and work well as part of a team.
- Can stay calm, focused, and professional during high-volume service.
- Are eager to learn the menu, service standards, dining room layout, and restaurant procedures.
- Have previous restaurant or customer service experience — preferred, but not required.
- Are dependable, punctual, and ready to bring your best energy to Halloween and New Year's Eve.
- Previous restaurant serving, server assistant, or customer service experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of sanitation and safe food-service practices.
- Ability to learn restaurant menus, service procedures, floor plans, and ordering systems quickly.
