JOB SUMMARY AND MISSION

321 Coffee is a coffee shop and roaster built on inclusion. We aim to provide meaningful work experiences to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We believe in doing business the right way, and we’re looking for an individual who shares this passion for inclusion and belonging.

321 Coffee is growing, and we are excited to hire people to support our daily cafe operations. This role is for someone who wants to work independently with others, take ownership of the shop’s day-to-day execution, deliver an excellent customer experience, and find enjoyment while doing it all. Assistant Shift Managers are essential to ensuring each location operates smoothly and consistently while creating a fun experience that is inclusive to all.

Assistant Shift Managers will work independently alongside other Assistant Shift Managers with offsite support from a Shift Manager or Store Manager. They are expected to be able to independently run the shop during a shift without immediate onsite supervision.

Assistant Shift Managers will have a “home” set of locations where they work.

Part-time hours are currently available Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

SUMMARY OF KEY ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Open and close the shop independently
• Operate the shop during a shift without onsite supervision
• Greet customers, answer customer questions, and describe menu offerings
• Take orders accurately and process them through the point-of-sale system
• Confirm order accuracy with customers
• Prepare excellent drinks and products, following 321 Coffee recipes
• Ensure work safety and cleanliness
• Keep the shop running efficiently by anticipating needs
• Create a welcoming environment for guests and our team
• Engage with others to share the 321 Coffee mission
• Assist with restocking supplies and maintaining organization of the shop
• Communicate operational issues or needs to the Shift Manager or Store Manager
• Other duties as assigned by Company

BASIC ROLE QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior experience is a plus but not required
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 lbs for restocking inventory
• Ability to work independently and maintain responsibility for the shop during a shift

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Eager to learn new skills and request help when needed
• Ability to work independently without immediate onsite supervision
• Engage with customers and provide outstanding customer service
• Attend required shifts and maintain punctuality
• Ability to use and troubleshoot point-of-sale technology
• Ability to learn and operate shop equipment
• Ability to work Tuesday, Wednesday, and/or Thursday
• Ability to work in the USA
