Dietary Aide

Alliance at Baldwinville is a not-for-profit, 94 bed skilled nursing home located in Baldwinville, MA!
We are currently looking for a full time Dietary Aide to join our kitchen. The Dietary Aide assists with the preparation, service, and clean-up of meals while ensuring residents receive meals in accordance with their dietary needs and preferences. This position supports a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen and dining environment and provides courteous service to residents, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities- Prepare dining areas, meal trays, beverages, and food items for meal service.
- Serve meals to residents according to established menus, diet orders, portion sizes, and dietary restrictions.
- Accurately assemble resident trays and ensure proper identification before service.
- Assist with meal delivery and collection of trays.
- Prepare simple food items, snacks, beverages, and supplements as directed.
- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, trays, and kitchen equipment.
- Clean and sanitize work areas, dining areas, equipment, and food preparation surfaces.
- Properly store food and supplies in accordance with food safety and sanitation requirements.
- Follow infection control, food handling, and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate food temperatures and report concerns to the Dietary Manager or Cook.
- Stock supplies and notify management when items are running low.
- Provide friendly and respectful service while supporting residents' preferences, dignity, and independence.
- Follow facility policies, safety procedures, and applicable state and federal regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
- Previous food service, healthcare, or long-term care experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow resident diet orders and food safety procedures.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
- Must be dependable and able to work scheduled shifts, including weekends and holidays as required.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25–50 pounds as required.
- Ability to safely operate standard dietary and kitchen equipment.
