Duties and responsibilities related to the Head Chef role- Lead the day-to-day kitchen operations of NYnLON, ensuring exceptional standards of food quality, consistency, presentation, and guest satisfaction.
- Work closely with the Executive Head Chef to deliver the restaurant's culinary vision, seasonal menu offerings, and brand standards.
- Supervise and support the NYnLON kitchen team, fostering a positive, collaborative, and high-performing working environment.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking techniques, and plating standards, ensuring consistency in taste, quality, and presentation throughout every service.
- Assist with menu development, recipe implementation, and the introduction of new dishes while maintaining the restaurant's New York-inspired identity.
- Monitor food costs, stock control, ordering, and waste management to support the efficient operation of the restaurant kitchen.
- Ensure compliance with all hygiene, food safety, and health and safety standards, maintaining a clean, organised , and well-run kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with restaurant management and wider Food & Beverage team to deliver seamless service and memorable guest experiences. Support the training, coaching, and development of kitchen colleagues, helping to build skills and encourage continuous improvement.
- Act as a key ambassador for NYnLON's culinary offering, ensuring every dish reflects the restaurant's quality standards and reputation.
You are an experienced and talented chef with previous experience as a Head Chef, Senior Sous Chef, or similar role within a quality restaurant or luxury hotel restaurant.
You are committed to delivering exceptional food and memorable guest experiences, combining strong culinary expertise with a hands-on approach to kitchen leadership. You enjoy working closely with your team, leading by example during service, and maintaining consistently high standards across every aspect of the operation.
Reporting directly to the Executive Head Chef, you are organised , dependable, and solutions-focused, with a strong understanding of food cost control, kitchen administration, and team development. You thrive in a fast-paced restaurant environment and take pride in creating memorable dining experiences through high-quality food and excellent execution.
