ABOUT THRIFT OUT

Thrift Out exists to extend the stewardship cycle of garments while offering a clean, organized, and deeply discounted shopping experience, allowing every person to leave with more dignity, more hope, and more items for themselves and their loved ones.

Job Summary:

The Thrift Out Floor Team is responsible for providing excellent customer service, managing transactions, putting out products, and supporting the overall operations of the store. This role plays a vital part in furthering the mission of the non-profit organization by ensuring a welcoming and organized shopping experience for customers and donors. This role provides an opportunity to make a positive impact in the community while gaining valuable retail experience in a mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support sales strategies to maximize revenue and contribute to the PB414 mission.
  • Work collaboratively with the team and volunteers.
  • Help manage inventory, including receiving donations, stocking, and merchandising.
  • Provide excellent customer service at all points of contact - assist customers with purchases, provide product information, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Organize and stock merchandise, ensuring displays are visually appealing and aligned with store standards.
  • Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety and operational policies, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere for customers and volunteers.
  • Ensure adherence to PB414 regulations, financial accountability, and ethical business practices.
  • Support marketing and community outreach efforts to attract customers and donors by helping prepare for popup events and occasionally work at events.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned .

Qualifications:

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Experience in cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) systems preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including volunteers and donors.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Passion for the mission and values of Purpose Brands 414.
  • Dependable transportation to and from shifts.
  • Must be 16+ years of age.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus.
  • Volunteer experience in non-profit organizations is beneficial.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and interaction with customers, donors, volunteers and team
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
