WHAT YOU WILL DOThe National Business Manager (Special Markets) drives volume and financial results for a network of wholesale and retail customers within an assigned area, specifically focusing on specialty accounts like Hudson News, Five Below and other retailers and distributors. The ideal candidate will reside in Eastern half of the US and near an airport as key areas of work will take place in these regions.
The role develops personal relationships with customers and effectively manages assigned broker sales to build credibility and deliver mutually beneficial results.
- Drives channel defined DSMP (Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, Pricing) initiatives to achieve area sales objectives within assigned geography.
- Manages associated business systems to evaluate the effectiveness of sales strategy implementation.
- Conducts customer planning to ensure alignment with channel direction.
- Manages broker sales personnel to ensure the delivery of mutually beneficial sales results and the highest quality customer service.
- Communicates with Area Sales Manager to inform of dynamics and potential sales opportunities within assigned geography.
- Reviews and reports on customer retention and market trends to identify new business opportunities.
- Manages interactions with customers to identify cross/up and repeat sales opportunities.
- Resolves problems with key customers to ensure that they receive the highest quality customer service.
- 2-5 years of experience in Special Markets
- 2-5 years of experience in Sales
- 2-3 years of experience in Broker Management
- Fundamental sales understanding
- Strong ability to develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent administrative, written, and verbal communication skills
- Goal focused, driven to execute, and persuasive skills
- Understanding of category and syndicated data analysis; interpreting and drawing accurate conclusions (IRI/Circana, Neilsen)
- Understanding of SAP, TPM reporting, BI reporting and IRI data
- Works effectively within a fast-paced, ambiguous, and changing environment
- Ability to create business strategic plans using P&L/budgeting skills
- Ability to effectively communicate key tactics and products that achieve the strategic objectives of brand and the business channels
- Proficient in Excel and Power Point
- Ability to analyze computer reports on sales data, forecasts, and budgets
- Excellent analytical/problem solving skills with the ability to interpret data and handle complex situations in a cross functional environment
- Must live in Eastern US near an airport and have the ability and willingness to travel 50%
