About the Team
The HPE Business Unit leads the U.S. go‑to‑market strategy for HPE’s full portfolio, including compute, storage, networking (Aruba & Juniper), and hybrid cloud solutions. The team partners closely with HPE and our channel ecosystem to drive revenue growth, expand partner reach, and accelerate adoption through field engagement and our digital platform.
About the RoleThe Business Development Executive (BDE) will support HPE hybrid and networking solutions. Travel will be required depending on partner mix. The compensation is a 60/40 field‑based structure.
Responsibilities- Drive Category Growth Strategy – develop and execute strategic growth plans, identify market trends, and deliver profitable growth for assigned technology categories.
- Expand New Business within Existing Accounts – pursue new opportunities across existing partner relationships, lead strategic conversations, and build account growth plans.
- Strengthen Vendor & Strategic Partnerships – cultivate executive‑level relationships with key vendors, negotiate favorable terms, and align vendor strategies with organizational goals.
- Solution Selling & Executive Engagement – lead consultative sales efforts, present strategic proposals to technical and non‑technical stakeholders, and engage partners to understand business objectives.
- Market & Financial Leadership – conduct market analysis, apply financial acumen to forecast profitability, manage forecasting and margin profiles, and monitor year‑over‑year growth.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration – partner with sales, marketing, operations, finance, and product teams to prioritize and execute strategic initiatives.
Minimum qualifications:
- 3+ years of strategic sales, business development, or account management experience in technology, distribution, or related industries.
- Demonstrated success driving year‑over‑year profitability growth.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience closing complex, solution‑based deals.
- Experience managing profit and loss concepts, forecasting, and margin profiles.
- Strong business and financial acumen; ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
- Exceptional presentation skills for executive and technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
- Willingness to travel for in‑person vendor and partner engagements.
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (high school diploma or equivalent required).
- Experience in technology solutions, distribution, channel sales, or platform‑based business models.
- Background in consultative selling and category management.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $58,000.00 – $98,600.00 per year. Base pay within each range depends on location, job duties, and experience. Additional rewards may include merit increases, annual bonuses, sales incentives, and long‑term incentives.
