Our rapidly growing company is seeking a Service Sales Specialist responsible for generating revenue through the sale of HVAC Service Agreements, Repairs, and Upgrades, with additional responsibility for select BAS retrofit and plumbing opportunities.
The Service Sales Specialist focuses on maintaining client relationships, developing new business, coordinating with the Service Estimator and Service Manager, and ensuring customer satisfaction through accurate and timely proposals. The position plays a key role in sustaining the financial success and growth of the Yates Company HVAC Service Division.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Identify, qualify, and pursue sales opportunities for service agreements, repairs, upgrades, and retrofits.
- Conduct site visits to gather scope information and verify equipment conditions.
- Maintain an active sales pipeline using company Excel-based tracking sheets.
- Coordinate with the Service Estimator for pricing accuracy and proposal preparation.
- Prepare and review all proposals with the Service Manager prior to submission.
- Follow up on all open opportunities weekly to completion.
- Track awarded projects and ensure smooth transition to the Service Coordinator for scheduling.
- Develop and maintain strong, professional relationships with clients.
- Serve as the customer’s primary contact for service proposal inquiries and project updates.
- Provide timely and professional responses to customer questions or concerns.
- Maintain constant and clear communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal team members to balance workload and ensure proposals are prioritized correctly.
- Attend and contribute to weekly Service Department meetings.
- Participate in quarterly sales review meetings to discuss results, challenges, and improvement strategies.
- Maintain a monthly sales forecast, including potential opportunities and projected close dates.
- Develop and issue customer proposals after Service Manager review.
- Recommend pricing strategies and customer-specific discounting.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of commercial HVAC service sales experience (or related technical background).
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, service contracts, and mechanical retrofits.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and digital proposal preparation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid Texas driver’s license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage.
Work is performed in a primarily office environment including frequent remote locations or on-site at project locations. Project locations include work sites in commercial, industrial, institutional buildings, or other construction areas including outdoors environments with constant exposure to noise, dust, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, metal shavings, moving objects, sharp edges, and temperature extremes.
