**** Job Summary
** The Account Manager manages a portfolio of small group insurance clients (typically businesses with 2 to 50 employees). You will serve as the main contact for client questions, renewal processes, and benefits administration. Your goal is to provide exceptional service, retain clients, and ensure all group health, dental, vision, and life policies run smoothly.
** Key Responsibilities
*** Client Service:
Answer daily questions from employers and employees about plan designs, claims, and billing.
* Renewals:
Gather census data, review current plan performance, and process carrier quotes for annual renewals.
* Presentations:
Prepare and present renewal options, cost analyses, and benefit summaries to the sales team for clients.
* Enrollment:
Coordinate open enrollment meetings, employee communications, and onboarding of new small group clients with the sales team and clients.
* Compliance:
Ensure client policies comply with state and federal regulations like ACA, COBRA, and ERISA.
* Carrier Relations:
Maintain strong working relationships with insurance carriers and general agents.
Qualifications
* Experience:
2+ years of experience in employee benefits administration, account management, or insurance brokerage required.
* License:
Active Life and Health insurance license (or ability to obtain within 90 days). We will provide guidance and training if not already licensed.
* Knowledge:
Understanding small group medical, dental, vision, and ancillary products is preferred, but customer service skills are essential.
* Skills:
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities with strong customer service skills.
* Tech:
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and agency management systems (e.g., D365, Epic, Benefit Point). Willingness to learn and interact with AI Coworkers The typical base pay range for this role nationwide is $40,000 to $55,000 per year. Your base pay is dependent upon your skills, education, qualifications, professional experience, and location. In addition to base pay, some roles are eligible for variable compensation, commission, and/or annual bonus based on your individual performance and/or the company’s performance.
