The Group Sales Manageris responsible foreffectivelysolicitingand becoming familiar with all accounts in his/her market segments. He/she is also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts/market segments to positivelyimpacthotel revenues. The Sales Manager will work in conjunction with the Director of Sales and Marketing to achieve the hotel’s revenue and market share goals for the hotel. Develop group strategies that drive performance in assigned markets.
Responsible for developing new salesas well as for pursuing the rebooking of past events. Collaborate with the Director of Sales and Marketing and the Strategy Team to achieve the correct balance of group business,taking into account transient demand (plan values),to maximize hotel revenue.
Have the ability toperformmultiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
This position offers a base salary plus eligibility to participate in the Statler’s Sales Incentive Plan. Participation and payout are not guaranteed and are subject to plan terms and eligibility criteria.
Required Qualifications:- B.S. degree in Hotel Administration or equivalent experience required.
A minimumforthreetofouryears of hospitality, corporate,conference or convention sales experience is required. Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure in a fast-paced environment. - Proven organizational,interpersona land communication (oral and written) skills.
- Effective sales and negotiating skills. Knowledge of sales software,spreadsheet and database applications on PCs.
- Must be proficient with Windows operating systems
- Experience in prospecting for accounts, old and new, and the ability to negotiate andclosebusiness.
- Ability to respond back to clientsona timely basis.
- Mustbe able to convey information and ideas clearly.
- Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
- Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
- Mustmaintaincomposure and objectivity under pressure.
- Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing,identifying and solvingproblemsas necessary.
- Must have the ability to assimilate complex information, data, etc. from disparate sources and consider,adjustormodifyto meet the constraints of the particular need.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding,clarifying and resolving the concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests.
- Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions.
- Experience with Delphi is a plus
This is a full-time, onsite position based in Ithaca, NY. Salary tocommensuratewith education and experience.
