Postdoctoral Research Scholar
to conduct innovative research in collaboration with Dr. Richard Guyer and his laboratory team. This position will provide scientific and technical leadership in the management, design, and conduct of basic pre-clinical research on pediatric solid tumors. The postdoc may alsoparticipatein didactics and teaching activities, when available.
- Designing and executing experiments
- Collecting and analyzing data
- Assisting with writing and revising manuscripts, grant proposals, abstract submission, and publications
- Mentoring and collaborating with graduate students and research assistants

Dr. Guyer is a surgeon-scientist in the Division of Pediatric Surgery in the Department of Surgery at the Universityof Iowa Carver College of Medicine. His lab performscutting edge research on deciphering the developmental pathways involved in pediatric solid tumors, particularly neuroblastoma. Dr. Guyer’s laboratory aims to conduct research with strong potential for translation from bench to bedside.
Education Requirement:- MD or PhD in related discipline, or equivalent degree.
- Expertise in routine molecular and cell culture techniques
- Experience working with fish and/or rodent models of development and disease
- Experience with bioinformatic methods and coding.
- Excellent laboratory and analytical skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
