Brandeis University seeks to hire a Research Associate I to perform a variety of tasks to provide technical and high-level project coordination across all phases of research studies; conducts and organizes trainings for community sites, other staff, and students on public health technologies; liaises with and serves as technical lead to state public health lab; carries out data analysis and performs site visits;
organizes, troubleshoots and maintains laboratory equipment and communications to sites. The person will participate in managing a community advisory group and typically performing project tasks as directed. This position requires general administrative duties; performs statistical analyses; assists in writing papers, reports and presentations. This person will also provide day-to-day direction to undergraduate students and train them in relevant procedures. This is a fully grant funded position.
The hiring range is $51,300 - $65,000.
- Coordinate project activities across multiple sites for public health data collection and support advisory board meetings.
- 20% Liaises with and serves as technical lead to state public health lab during transition, validation, and sustainability phases of lab launch.
- 20% Oversee the collection of and participates actively in processing and analysis of relevant data with direction; maintains relevant records and databases to ensure accuracy.
- 20% Conducts and organizes trainings
- 10% Perform general administrative duties including laboratory supply and device inventory management, to ensure effective, smooth functioning of the relevant research project(s).
- 5% May assist writing papers, reports, presentations and other correspondence and communications.
- 10% Assists in providing day-to-day direction, training and assistance to student workers.
- 10% Perform other assignments as needed.
- 5% Requirements:
Masters required plus 1-3 years of relevant work experience Requires proficiency in working with Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectrometry This position will be exclusively represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), Local 888 for purposes of wages, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
