As an environmental protection spe cia list, you understand that sustaining natural resources, protecting cultural heritage, and ensuring environmental compliance are essential to installation readiness and long‑term mission success. That’s why we need an experience d environmental professional like you who can apply analytical skills, regulatory knowledge, and technical judgment to support critical Marine Corps environmental programs.
On our team, you’ll help manage and support environmental compliance, natural resource stewardship, and cultural resources protection from beginning to end while collaborating with senior leadership. Specifically, you’ll conduct environmental and cultural resource field assessments, compile measurements and testing data, and contribute to environmental and cultural resource planning documentation aligned with federal, state, and DoD requirements.
In this role, you’ll closely impact installation management by validating environmental and cultural resource conditions, identifying risks or hazards, and preparing documentation used to inform installation decision‑making. Through coordination with environmental managers, cultural resource spe cia lists, Public Works, and engineering staff, you’ll ensure environmental and cultural resource practices remain compliant, sustainable, and aligned with Marine Corps policies . You Have:- Experience conducting environmental or cultural resource field assessments, including data collection, facility condition review, or site documentation
- Experience drafting environmental or cultural resource documentation, including assessment reports, environmental review inputs, or compliance materials
- Experience supporting environmental or cultural resource programs within a federal or military installation environment
- Knowledge of environmental and cultural resource laws, regulations, and practices such as NEPA, NHPA or Section 106, endangered species protection, and installation environmental policies
- Ability to interpret field conditions, environmental hazards, regulatory requirements, and compliance criteria, and synthesize them into structured assessments
- Ability to coordinate with installation‑level stakeholders to support documentation, environmental planning, cultural resource review, or condition assessment activities
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience supporting environmental programs, natural resource management, cultural resource compliance, or environmental condition assessments, or Master’s degree and 5+ years of experience supporting environmental programs, natural resource management, cultural resource compliance, or environmental condition assessments
- Experience supporting Marine Corps commands, Navy commands, or other DoD environmental or cultural resource organizations
- Experience drafting environmental review documents, cultural resource evaluations, impact analyses, or Facilities Condition Assessment ( FCA ) inputs
- Knowledge of environmental compliance practices tied to natural resource stewardship, cultural resource protection, and NEPA or Section 106 processes
- Ability to use GIS, BUILDER SMS, environmental compliance tracking systems, or facility condition assessment tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Cultural Resource Management, or a related field preferred ;
Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Engineering, Cultural Resource Management, or a related field a plus - PMP, CFM, CEP, or equivalent Environmental or Compliance Certification
