Job DescriptionSummary:
As a part of the Federal Work-Study Program at Maryville University, the Biochemistry Lab Coordinator position offers enrolled students an opportunity to gain valuable work experience while supporting the Science Labs. This role is designed to enhance students' career readiness skills in preparation for their transition into the workforce.
Job Responsibilities:
- Prepare materials for all biochemistry laboratory experiments.
- Regularly communicate with teaching faculty to ensure efficient lab operations.
- Complete general lab upkeep and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure cleanliness and safety in the laboratories.
- Support ongoing labs and instructors.
- Receive packages and inventory materials accordingly.
- Complete lab prep assignments from other Lab Coordinators.
- Regularly check in with supervisors for additional tasks.
- Participate in ongoing training and regular meetings with student managers.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Highly organized, detailed-oriented, and proactive.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain meticulous records.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem‑solving skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A science faculty recommendation for lab work is preferred unless applying as a freshman. If applicable, please submit a recommendation letter with your application.
