Tri Media Environmental and Engineering Services
is seeking a motivated, hard-working
Industrial Hygiene Field Technician
to join their team in
Marquette, MI.In this role, you will support health and safety projects by assisting with field assessments, exposure monitoring, documentation, and report preparation under the guidance of experienced professionals.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with evaluating workplace health and safety exposures for a wide variety of clients.
  • Perform building hazardous material assessments.
  • Prepare equipment and conduct industrial hygiene surveys.
  • Assess work activities that may contribute to occupational exposures.
  • Accurately document field observations, sample information, and client interactions.
  • Learn and apply basic calculation methods for chemical and noise exposure assessments.
  • Follow appropriate health and safety procedures, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and clothing.
  • Prepare clear, concise field notes, tables, and draft report sections for senior review.
COMPENSATION/BENEFITS
  • Annual salary of $45,000-$65,000 commensurate with education and experience.
  • Standard schedule:
    Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with frequent extended or non-traditional hours.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree Engineering, Mathematics, or the Life Sciences (Biology, Chemistry, Geology), or a related field preferred
    ; equivalent field, technical, military, or trade experience may be considered.
  • 1–5 years of related experience; prior internship, co-op, field, construction, safety, environmental, or laboratory experience is a plus
    .
  • Ability to travel, local and regional, up to 75%.
  • Interest in learning how to perform safety inspections, field oversight, incident investigations, and health and safety plan development.
  • Basic familiarity with construction materials, buildings, or construction drawings is a plus
    .
  • Existing regulatory certifications are a plus
    ; willingness to obtain certifications and complete job-related training is expected.
  • Experience conducting field assessments is a plus
    , but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills with an emphasis on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Good technical writing and computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite).
