UGPP /J-01 $ 37,913.00 to UGPP /J-18 $ 66,821.00 per annum
Job Description Summary
Work independently under the supervision and direction of the project investigators. The duties include purchasing supplies and ingredients, conducting trials or experiments for food product development and meat quality and food safety assessment, preparing and co-facilitating workshops, and providing food technology & safety education to achieve objectives of the projects in food science and technology. The Extension Associate I is also required to analyze data, present results, and write reports to supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or Associate’s Degree with 3 years relevant and related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Food Science, Nutrition, or Animal Sciences. Knowledge, skills, and experiences in food science, nutrition, food preparation, microbiology, chemistry, meat science or agricultural & life sciences are preferred.
Minimum Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to utilize different platforms (e.g., Canva, Adobe, Instagram) to promote Extension activities. Proficient in Microsoft Suite, reference manager, statistical and/or media software. Able to lift, up to, 25 lbs. Able to follow detailed protocols for food processing.
