The Severud Wildlife Ecology Lab at South Dakota State University seeks a highly motivated PhD student to study Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep population ecology and restoration in the Greater Badlands ecosystem of South Dakota.
The project will use GPS/VHF telemetry, population surveys, GIS data, and long-term datasets to evaluate how resident and translocated sheep respond to augmentation and recovery, informing management decisions.
