POSITION SUMMARY

A & Associates is seeking qualified Corrections Officers to support third-shift operations at a secure correctional facility in Clayton, Missouri
.

Selected officers will supplement the facility’s existing correctional team by performing designated security and noncritical correctional-support functions.

The primary focus of this assignment is maintaining facility safety and security through routine rounds, key tours, lock and door inspections, observation, documentation, and verification of inmate well-being.

This position requires individuals who are dependable, observant, professional, comfortable working in a secure correctional environment, and capable of following established procedures without deviation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct scheduled security rounds and key tours throughout assigned areas of the facility.
Inspect doors, locks, gates, and designated security points to confirm they are properly secured.
Perform routine proof-of-life and welfare observations of incarcerated individuals in accordance with established facility procedures.
Maintain continuous awareness of assigned areas and promptly identify unusual activity, safety concerns, security issues, or potential emergencies.
Document completed rounds, observations, incidents, and other required information accurately and timely.
Immediately report security concerns, medical concerns, unusual behavior, disturbances, damaged equipment, or other significant observations to appropriate facility personnel.
Follow established post orders, emergency procedures, safety protocols, and chain-of-command requirements.
Assist existing correctional staff with approved noncritical security and operational functions.
Maintain professional boundaries and appropriate conduct when interacting with incarcerated individuals, employees, visitors, and other personnel.
Maintain confidentiality regarding facility operations and protected information.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and request assistance from designated correctional personnel when necessary.
Perform other related duties within the approved scope of the assignment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED required.
Prior experience working as a Corrections Officer, Detention Officer, Jail Officer, or in a comparable secure institutional environment strongly preferred.
Current correctional officer certification, credential, or documented corrections training as required or recognized by the applicable jurisdiction and/or facility
.
Must successfully satisfy all background, criminal-history, drug-screening, identification, and facility-clearance requirements applicable to the assignment.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Ability to understand and consistently follow written and verbal instructions, security procedures, and post orders.
Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to remain alert throughout an overnight shift.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to exercise sound judgment and remain calm in stressful or potentially volatile situations.
Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, professionalism, and integrity are essential.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This position may require:

Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
Frequent walking through secure areas and corridors.
Regular use of stairs.
Bending, reaching, stooping, and inspecting doors, locks, and other security points.
Ability to respond promptly to safety or emergency situations.
Ability to perform assigned duties while wearing any required uniform or safety/security equipment.
