The University Resource Officer is a seasonal or part-time memberof the UPD team (generally August through May) with responsibilities for providing law enforcement services to thecampus community. Candidates must be eligible for appointment underK.R.S. 164.952, including retirement from a KPPA administeredsystem with at least 20 years of service credit and in good standing. This position is for 1500 hours typically worked from August through May.

• Communicating with supervisors, peers, and all stakeholders in a courteous, culturally adroit manner that models the University Police core values, while providing an outstanding customer service experience.
• Patrolling assigned areas on foot, bicycle, or motor vehicle.
• Promptly, clearly, and concisely completing a variety ofwritten incident, offense, and ancillary reports in a grammatically correct manner and in accordance with established best practices.
• Responding to emergency alarms and dispatched calls for service .
• Observing and responding to actual and suspected criminal activity .
• Deterring crime and arresting violators as prescribed by Kentucky Revised Statutes .

• $42.00 per hour plus KLEFPF

• The University Resource Officer is a seasonal or part-time member of the UPD team (generally August through May) with responsibilities for providing law enforcement services to the campus community. Candidates must be eligible for appointment underK.R.S. 164.952, including retirement from a KPPA administeredsystem with at least 20 years of service credit and in good standing.

• Any candidate who is offered this position will be required to undergo a pre-employment criminal background check as mandatedby state law.

• S uccessful candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. In addition, the candidate will have positive work and/or life experiences interacting and building strong relationships with people from diverse backgrounds and communities. Officers must also be willing to listen, learn,and seek opportunities to teach while actively supporting and upholding the mission and values of Northern Kentucky University.
• The successful candidate will be required to demonstratecompetent solo patrol and investigative abilities by satisfying the knowledge and performance-based benchmarks set forth in thesupervised Field Training Observation & Evaluation program.

The selected candidate will be required to work 12-hourrotating shifts. Night, weekend, and holiday work is required .
