Led by Chief Paul Patriarca — 25+ years in law enforcement, career path from Framingham PD to command — this is a department where supervisors are accessible and engaged. When you’re making sound decisions, you are supported.

Most shifts are not high-drama. Some are quiet. Some require decisive action. Two-officer staffing is the goal, though at times you may work independently. Mutual aid is strong — but here, you are expected to think, lead, and act with confidence.

• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Valid : Must be able to obtain a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.
• Minimum Age: Must be at least 21 years old at the time of appointment.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Have the Ability to Pass:
  • FT MPTC Police Academy
  • Thorough Background Investigation
  • Psychological & Medical Exam
  • Physical Fitness Test
• Preferred: Certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) or officers with diverse backgrounds.
• Retirement: Mandatory at 65 years of age.
• Entry Exam: Must achieve 70% or above on the Get Badged entry exam.

• Possess clear and concise communication skills, both oral and written.
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities.
• Enforce the law impartially.
• Make sound judgments in high-stress situations.

Salary & Compensation Package:

Annual Base Salary: $53,000 - $69,000

Additional Annual Compensation:

• Generous Paid Vacation, Holiday, Personal & Sick Days
• Shift Differential
• Shift Swaps Permitted
• EMT Stipend
• Education Incentive
• Uniform Allowance of $1,200
• Cleaning Stipend of $800

• Achieve 70%+ on the Get Badged entry exam, and submit your application for the department's eligibility review.
