Overview
The Walton Shop is tentatively opening September 2026. Shift schedule includes 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Shifts*.
Salary$32.10 – $37.10 per hour.

- Perform maintenance services within acceptable standards for Dayton Freight Lines.
- Understand troubleshooting diesel engine systems with ECM diagnostic programs and other techniques.
- Diagnose, repair, and replace external engine components.
- Test and repair entire truck chassis electrical systems.
- Develop skills to become proficient in repair of all major power and drive‑train components.
- Effectively and efficiently perform PM inspections and services per DFL policy and time standards.
- Repair, adjust, and align suspension and brake systems.
- Maintain tire maintenance program per DFL policy.
- Perform service calls per DFL or location guidelines.
- Wash and fuel equipment as needed.
- Perform vehicle road tests to ensure quality repair service when qualified.
- Perform other maintenance duties or assignments as necessary.
- Maintain a positive attitude and interact courteously with fellow employees.
- Help care for shop, grounds, equipment, and tools.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment complying with OSHA and company standards.
- Record all work and labor on a computer in the EMS system.
- Work with Parts Department to ensure material and parts are maintained at proper levels.
- Comply with all Parts Department procedures and rules.
- Continuously improve processes.
- Possess a valid Driver’s License.
- Basic math skills.
- Fluent in English.
- Able to pass a drug screen.

This position requires the ability to perform routine physical tasks associated with equipment maintenance and repair in a Service Center and Shop environment. Duties may include standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, lifting, and using hand and power tools, with work performed independently or in team settings as appropriate.
