Field Service Technician

Location: Bowling Green, KY – Field service installations for the Mid America Field Service Group.

Job Overview:
The Field Service Technician will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair gas and welding equipment at customer sites throughout the region. The role supports optimal performance and safety of products and requires significant travel (≈75%). The technician must adhere to all federal, state, local codes and company policies.

• Contribute to the reliability of gas delivery systems, welding equipment, and related machinery at customer locations through scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repair solutions.
• Install new gas and welding equipment, ensuring proper setup, calibration, and adherence to safety standards.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and develop maintenance schedules to support system longevity and minimize downtime.
• Provide technical support and educate customers on proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
• Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and an organized inventory of used parts.
• Maintain alignment with all safety protocols, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Care for a company service vehicle, including maintenance of inventory, cleanliness, and routine inspections.
• Communicate effectively with customers, sales teams, and internal departments regarding service calls and equipment status.
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service as required.

• Minimum of 2+ years of field service, industrial maintenance, or related technical experience.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with proven troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Proficiency reading schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to operate a company vehicle safely.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in various environmental conditions.
• Commitment to safety and adherence to all company and industry safety standards.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or technical certification in HVAC, industrial mechanics, electronics, or related field preferred.
• Experience with gas delivery systems, welding equipment, or industrial gas applications highly desirable.
• Basic computer skills for record-keeping and communication.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to prioritize service calls.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
