Electronic Technician Supervisor

The Kentucky Department of Corrections (DOC), Division of Adult Institutions operates 13 correctional facilities that house Kentucky's adult inmate population. The mission of the DOC is to protect the citizens of the commonwealth and provide a safe, secure, and humane environment for staff and offenders while facilitating the mandates of the legislative and judicial processes. The DOC also offers opportunities for offenders to acquire skills that promote non-criminal behavior.

Electrical Technician Supervisor – Green River Correctional Complex (Central City, KY)

Salary: $56,570.04 annually
Pay Grade: 13
Employment Type: Executive Branch – Full Time – Eligible for Overtime Pay – 18A – 40.0 hours per week

• Supervise technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic component systems and other electronic equipment.
• Perform technician duties in more complex technical areas.
• Oversee the evaluation of electronic equipment performance and conduct final inspection and adjustment of installations and special systems.
• Maintain technical records and reports of maintenance and repairs.
• Interpret blueprints and technical drawings for technicians.
• Inspect work performed by staff.

Education: High school graduate.
Experience: Five years of technical experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic equipment.

Substitutions:
Technical training in electronics or a related field will substitute for the required experience on a year‑for‑year basis; additional technical experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year‑for‑year basis.

Work is typically performed in an office and/or electronic shop environment.

This position includes an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
