Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Mechanic
As a Mechanic, you will ensure the smooth operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on production machines. This includes following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions.
Responsibilities- Dismantle, move, assemble, install, weld, and repair industrial machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, drawings, or verbal instructions.
- Utilize hammers, wrenches, crowbars, and other hand tools to dismantle equipment and machines.
- Move machinery and equipment using hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks.
- Assemble and install equipment such as conveyors using hand and power tools.
- Construct foundations and align machines.
- Perform scheduled inspections and maintenance.
- Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments.
- Remove defective parts by dismantling devices using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools.
- Control downtime through effective routine preventive maintenance techniques.
- Set up and operate machine tools and fabrication machinery to rework or make new parts.
- Travel to other locations may be required.
- Perform other work as assigned at management's direction.
- Troubleshooting mechanical issues and performing maintenance.
- Understanding of blueprints and schematics.
- Experience with machine operating or fabricating.
- Knowledge of diesel, electrical repair, hydraulics, pneumatics, preventive maintenance, and blueprint reading.
- Proficiency in handling diesel engines, schematics, hand tools, welding, 3-phase motors, wiring, mechanical assembly, and electrical assembly.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Experience in mechanical/electrical assembly.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Ghent, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $27.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
