Overview
Electrical Technicians will be responsible for maintaining the facility’s electrical and process control systems. Duties include inspection, calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical instrumentation controls, pneumatic and hydraulic actuators as well as switch gear, motors and other electrical equipment.
They will work with motors, digital and analog electronics, schematics, print reading and control circuits, AC/DC theory and electrical maintenance, computers/PLC and test instruments, power supplies, power distribution and construction/installation, and mechanical and hand/power tools as they relate to manufacturing equipment.
This position will work a rotating shift schedule, including weekends, holidays, and scheduled/unscheduled overtime. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Responsibilities- Maintain facility electrical and process control systems.
- Inspect, calibrate, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair electrical instrumentation, controls, pneumatic and hydraulic actuators, switch gear, motors, and related equipment.
- Work with motors, digital/analog electronics, schematics, print reading, control circuits, AC/DC theory, and electrical maintenance.
- Utilize computerized maintenance management system to complete work orders, order parts, and schedule maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in industrial electrical maintenance.
- Experience with CMMS systems, AC/DC drives and motors, digital and analog electronics, schematics, print reading, control circuits, computers/PLC and test instruments.
Experience with power supplies, power distribution, 480V systems, NFPA
70E, construction/installation, mechanical maintenance, and crane maintenance.
