Maintenance Specialist

Responsibilities

• Modify and troubleshoot PLC systems (Allen Bradley / Siemens) to ensure efficient machine operation.
• Perform diagnostics on control circuits, sensors, and communication networks; implement corrective actions with minimal supervision.
• Maintain and back up PLC programs and related documentation; assist in control upgrades and integration of new equipment.

• Independently perform advanced electrical wiring and troubleshooting for 24V, 110V, 220V, and 480V systems, ensuring compliance with NEC and NFPA 70E standards.
• Diagnose and repair electrical faults, including short circuits, grounding issues, and component failures, minimizing downtime.
• Execute preventive maintenance and rebuilds on motors, drives, and servo systems, maintaining alignment, calibration, and motor performance.

• Write, modify, and optimize programs for robots including calibration and system integration with PLCs, sensors, and vision systems.
• Perform robot preventive maintenance, including inspection, cleaning, lubrication, and calibration to meet production accuracy requirements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical faults on robots to minimize cycle loss and improve repeatability.

• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on rubber presses and similar hydraulic or servo-driven machines.
• Calibrate temperature, pressure, and motion profiles to maintain process control and quality standards.
• Identify and replace faulty sensors, valves, or heating elements; verify system operation post‑maintenance.

• Troubleshoot and adjust vision systems used in inspection and automation processes.
• Support program adjustments and calibration to maintain detection accuracy and reject control.
• Assist with system integration between vision, robotics, and PLC controls.

• Accurately document wiring changes, program modifications, preventive maintenance results, and repair actions in CMMS.
• Follow all safety procedures including Lockout/Tagout, arc‑flash, and electrical PPE protocols per NFPA 70E.
• Maintain compliance with all company policies, maintenance procedures, and regulatory standards.

• Provide mentorship to junior technicians through on‑the‑job training and troubleshooting guidance.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects targeting OEE, scrap reduction, and equipment reliability.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with production, quality, and engineering to implement process improvements.

• Technical degree, industrial maintenance certification, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance or automation support, preferably within automotive manufacturing.
• PLC Programming (Allen Bradley, Keyence).
• Robotics Programming & Calibration (Fanuc, Motoman, Universal).
• Electrical & Control Wiring (24V–480V).
• Servo & VFD Drive Configuration.
• Hydraulic & Pneumatic Systems.
• Vision Systems (Keyence, Cognex preferred).
• Reading Electrical Schematics, Diagrams & Prints.
