Sr. Vehicle Maintenance Technician​/DOT

Overview

Provide timely, quality maintenance for Fed Ex vehicle fleet and ground support equipment, including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and documentation.

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and modifications on a variety of fleet vehicles and ground support equipment.
• Document maintenance and repairs accurately in applicable records and systems.
• Diagnose issues using appropriate testing equipment, gauges, and tools; verify repairs and ensure safety compliance.
• Work with minimal supervision for extended periods and maintain a focus on safety and efficiency.

• High school diploma or GED.
• Vocational training from an accredited automotive-related vocational school is preferred.
• ASE Master certification is preferred.

• Four (4) years of fleet, automotive or truck vehicle advanced technical repair and maintenance experience.

• Knowledge of the use and operation of equipment and testing tools for troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic, gasoline, diesel, electric, and/or hybrid motorized equipment.
• Proficient computer skills; demonstrated teamwork and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety officials, and respond to official inquiries in accordance with FMCSA enforcement guidance.

• Possession of a basic set of automotive hand tools including metric sizes.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and maneuver heavier components with assistance; able to work in a noisy, non-air-conditioned/heated environment.
• Must be able to work without supervision for extended time periods; willingness to work any shift.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license in the state of residence.
• Must meet qualifications as outlined in section 391 of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations; medical examination required; non-covered safety-sensitive position.

• ASE Master certification preferred.
