PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handles, relocates, stages, and organizes electrical materials, tools, and equipment.

  • Maintains clean, orderly work areas and properly disposes of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.

  • Assists with and, when qualified, performs wire and cable pulls, lifting, hoisting, mounting, strapping, and equipment positioning.

  • Uses hand tools, power tools, measuring devices, threaders, and manual or mechanical benders appropriate to the assigned task.

  • Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit and supports in accordance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codes.

  • Assists with or performs underground layout, trenching, raceway installation, grounding, and rough-in work.

  • Reads and interprets basic electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, schematics, blueprints, specifications, and installation details.

  • Assists with layout and material preparation for branch power, feeders, lighting, controls, and electrical equipment installations.

  • Assists with or performs installation of switch gear, transformers, panels, busway, cable tray, and related electrical distribution equipment based on demonstrated skill and assigned classification.

  • Assists with conductor identification, wire and conduit sizing, terminations, and connection of power-supply wiring, cables, conduit, and electrical equipment.

  • Performs basic testing and troubleshooting of electrical circuits, systems, and equipment under appropriate supervision.

  • Coordinates work with other employees, subcontractors, and trades to support project schedules and installation requirements.

  • Follows all company, project, client, OSHA, NFPA 70E, and applicable electrical-code requirements.

  • Reports unsafe conditions, damaged tools, defective equipment, and installation issues to the supervisor immediately.

  • May guide less-experienced helpers or apprentices in basic work methods and the safe use of tools and equipment when assigned.

  • Performs other project-related duties and assignments as directed by the supervisor.

  • Meets attendance standards and follows all late-arrival and absence-notification procedures.

  • This position does not perform energized electrical work unless specifically authorized, qualified, and permitted under company policy and the site-specific electrical safety program.

CLASSIFICATION RANGE
  • E2-E3:
    Performs material handling, site support, basic installations, conduit support, wire-pulling, mounting, strapping, and other electrical tasks under direct or close supervision.

  • E4:
    Performs moderately complex conduit installation, assists with equipment installation and terminations, and completes assigned tasks with reduced supervision. May help instruct less-experienced employees.

  • E5:
    Performs advanced apprentice-level work, including layout, rough-in, conduit and wire sizing, equipment installation, terminations, and basic troubleshooting under the direction of licensed supervision. This classification does not represent a licensed Journeyman Electrician.

  • Final classification is determined by the company based on documented experience, demonstrated proficiency, project needs, and any licensing or registration requirements that apply to the work location.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • At least three years of electrical construction experience in commercial or mission-critical environments.

  • Experience on data centers, hospitals, industrial facilities, semiconductor facilities, large commercial projects, or other complex electrical projects is strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of electrical construction methods, tools, materials, and basic electrical theory.

  • Ability to read a tape measure, perform construction math, and understand basic conduit and wire-sizing concepts.

  • Ability to read and follow drawings, specifications, written instructions, and verbal direction.

  • Ability to work safely, productively, and cooperatively in a fast-paced construction environment.

  • Ability to work scheduled overtime, nights, weekends, or alternate shifts when required by the project.

  • Ability to travel or work at assigned project locations when required.

LICENSES AND TRANSPORTATION
  • Current Driver's License and reliable transportation.

  • Current Texas Electrical Apprentice License

  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is preferred and may be required by the project.

EDUCATION
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is preferred. Enrollment in or completion of a recognized electrical apprenticeship or training program is preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in active commercial and mission-critical construction environments and involves regular interaction with employees, clients, subcontractors, and other trades. Work may be performed indoors or outdoors, at elevation, in confined or restricted areas, and in varying weather, temperature, noise, dust, and lighting conditions. Project-specific personal protective equipment and access requirements apply.
