Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and detail-oriented Water and Fire Restoration Technician to join our emergency response team. In this role, you will be on the front lines helping homeowners and businesses recover from property damage caused by water, fire, smoke, and mold.

As a Restoration Technician, you will perform emergency response services, initial site assessments, mitigation tasks, and specialized cleaning. Primary Responsibilities
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency service calls involving water extraction, fire/smoke damage cleanup, and mold remediation.
  • Water Damage Mitigation: Extract standing water using commercial pumps and vacuums; set up and monitor drying equipment (air movers, dehumidifiers); remove damaged building materials (drywall, carpet, padding, insulation).
  • Fire & Smoke Restoration: Clean soot, ash, and smoke residue from surfaces; perform structure and content cleaning; deodorize affected areas using thermal foggers, ozone generators, or hydroxyl machines.
  • Property & Content Protection: Carefully pack, inventory, move, and store customer contents and belongings to prevent further damage.
  • Site Containment & Safety: Set up containment zones, negative air machines, and HEPA filtration systems to ensure safe work environments and prevent cross-contamination.
  • Documentation: Complete clear, detailed, and accurate daily job notes, thermal readings, moisture maps, and equipment logs using mobile field applications.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Clean, inspect, and maintain standard restoration equipment, vehicles, and tools to ensure operational readiness.
Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Driver's License: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 70+ lbs assisted, work in confined spaces (crawlspaces, attics), and stand/bend for extended periods.
  • PPE Compliance: Ability to comfortably wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including full respirator gear, Tyvek suits, and safety glasses when required.
  • Availability: Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays to respond to emergency incidents.
Preferred Experience & Certifications
  • IICRC

    Certifications:

    Active certification in one or more of the following is strongly preferred:
    • WRT (Water Damage Restoration Technician)
    • FSRT (Fire & Smoke Restoration Technician)
    • AMRT (Applied Microbial Remediation Technician)
  • Industry

    Experience:

    1+ years of hands-on experience in disaster restoration, construction, demolition, or carpet cleaning.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Familiarity with restoration technology, moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and job management software.
