The Town of Boonton is hiring a Water/Sanitary Sewer Repairer 2 to join our Utilities Department. This hands-on role installs, maintains, and repairs water mains, valves, hydrants, and pumps, and performs sanitary sewer cleaning, jetting, manhole repair, and lift station maintenance. Day-to-day work includes installing and repairing water mains, pipes, valves, and hydrants; operating a Vactor truck for sanitary sewer cleaning;
taking compliance samples such as chlorine and PO4; performing basic inspections of water and wastewater pumping facilities; and responding to emergency repairs. Responsibilities include on-call rotation once approved by the supervisor. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of water mains, pipes, valves, and hydrants, and/or experience operating water treatment plant apparatus, and/or plumbing work.
A valid driver's license is required, and a CDL is preferred. Water treatment, collection, and distribution licenses preferred. Full-time Salary range of $65,000 to $76,000 is commensurate with experience and licensure. Full benefits package available. Water/sewer licenses qualify for added compensation over included range. Deadline for submission is September 11, 2026. The Town of Boonton is a Civil Service Community and EOE.
