Job Summary
Facility Maintenance Mechanic III has a thorough understanding of all Facility Maintenance Technician duties and demonstrated ability to perform the most complicated and advanced duties. A more senior member of the maintenance team performs duties with limited supervision or guidance and acts as a mentor to less experienced technicians.
The Facility Maintenance Technician III will support the Seymour Manufacturing Site facilities and facility related equipment and systems/processes which includes advanced troubleshooting, preventive maintenance and repairs of existing facilities and facility related equipment as well as supporting others with the installation of new equipment and technologies.
Scope of JobThis position has no direct P&L or budget responsibility but is responsible for contributing on an individual level to department and site goals and budgets.
Facility Maintenance- Performs preventive, corrective and predictive maintenance on facilities and facility related equipment requiring a high level of technical understanding.
- Capable of working on all the facility related equipment throughout the site with a high degree of expertise.
- New Installation or system modification for all equipment and mechanical systems.
- Facility systems and equipment enhancements and optimization.
- Assist with the new equipment PM, procedures and SOP generation.
- Perform complex high-level preventive maintenance to keep the equipment in good working condition by following complex written instructions and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnostics on complex mechanical and/or electrical components on facility related equipment.
- Participate in equipment modifications, rearrangements or small to medium projects.
- Conduct inspections of equipment and the facility to identify and report issues or defects and proper reporting methods to supervision.
- Utilizes demonstrated high level electrical and mechanical trade skills to complete daily tasks.
- A minimum of 7 years’ experience as a mechanic or technician, preferably within a pharmaceutical company.
- Associate Degree in Industrial Mechanics Technology, Instrumentation or Electronics degree is desirable.
- A license and/or a certification course from a recognized source in a relevant field is desired. Training in the form of an apprentice program with on the job training would also be taken under consideration.
- Pharmaceutical experience or GMP experience is required.
- In depth knowledge and Proficient use of electrical, hand tools and test equipment common to maintenance technicians.
- Advanced understanding of mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics.
- High level mechanical, electrical, and trouble-shooting skills.
- Capability to review and correct mechanical and electrical diagrams In-depth knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools necessary for the maintenance and repair of facility related equipment and spaces
- Light machining, fabrication and welding skills are preferred.
- Ability to identify and order parts needed to complete corrective and preventive maintenance activities in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required.
- Must possess in depth working knowledge and understanding of computers, PLCs, VFDs and other machine control systems/devices or equipment.
- Build and maintain a close working relationship with customers to ensure customer service satisfaction.
- Must exhibit enhanced communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be flexible with work priorities and work effectively as part of a team.
- Team player with a "can-do" attitude and a proven track record of attendance.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions and display good leadership to lesser experienced team members.
- Traditional industrial work environment, with frequent walking to other areas of the facility, including production areas, loading docks, mechanical spaces, roofs, catwalks and warehouse spaces.
- Must be able to wear company designated protective equipment for extended periods of time, including respirators, CAL rated ARC flash gear etc.
