We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team in Glendale, Kentucky. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a modern fleet of heavy construction equipment. We’re looking for a technician who can troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems—not someone who simply replaces parts.
Position SummaryAs a Heavy Equipment Technician, you will inspect, diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on a variety of construction equipment and trucks. You’ll work with operators and management to keep equipment safe, reliable, and available while minimizing downtime.
The ideal candidate is comfortable reading OEM service manuals, electrical wiring schematics, hydraulic diagrams, and using diagnostic tools to identify and repair equipment issues accurately.
Requirements- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy construction equipment and support vehicles.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and diesel engine systems.
- Read and interpret OEM service manuals, electrical wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and technical documentation.
- Troubleshoot equipment using diagnostic tools and manufacturer service information.
- Perform engine, hydraulic, drivetrain, electrical, brake, steering, suspension, and undercarriage repairs.
- Document inspections, repairs, parts used, and labor accurately.
- Communicate equipment concerns and repair recommendations with equipment management.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
- Minimum of 5 years of heavy equipment repair experience, or equivalent technical experience.
- Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills.
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, electrical schematics, and hydraulic diagrams.
- Experience using diagnostic equipment and electronic service information.
- Ability to troubleshoot equipment independently and make sound repair decisions.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Experience working on equipment from manufacturers such as:
Technical school, diesel technology training, or OEM certifications are preferred but not required for qualified candidates.
