This is field work, and it is travel work. Crews are deployed to a market, work that market until the assigned inventory is complete, and then move to the next one.
Most of our contractors run 3–4 weeks in the field andthen take 1–2 weeks off before the next deployment. Deploymentblocksarebuiltaroundthatrhythm, and we do our best to schedule around a contractor’s stated availability.
Compensation is entirely production-based
. Contractors are paid per unit of completed work — per light fixture replaced, perfootofstructurematerialinstalled, percontroldeviceinstalled —plusatripfeeforeach structure visited. There is no hourly rate, no overtime, and no cap. A crew that works efficiently and cleanly earns more per day than a crew that does not.
