Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Northern

The plan may be engineered in the office. The job gets executed in the field. That’s where you come in.

At Edwards Moving & Rigging, we take on projects where preparation matters, equipment matters, and experience matters.

But when a crew arrives on site and it’s time to move something massive, there has to be someone everyone can look to and ask:

What’s the plan, and how are we going to execute it safely?

We are looking for experienced Project Superintendents and Foremen who can answer that question.

This is a hands‑on field leadership role for someone who understands heavy rigging and specialized transport, knows how to lead a crew, can read an engineered plan and turn it into field execution, and has the judgment to recognize when something isn’t right.

Because at Edwards, field leadership isn’t about having the loudest voice on the jobsite.

It’s about knowing what needs to happen next and earning the trust of the people you’re leading.

As a Project Superintendent / Foreman, you will be responsible for coordinating the people, equipment, and daily activities required to execute complex heavy rigging and specialized transport projects.

You will:

  • Lead Leadmen, Riggers, Apprentices, Operators, and other assigned crew members.
  • Direct heavy rigging operations involving jack-and-slide systems, hydraulic gantries, loading and offloading, load placement, and specialized equipment moves.
  • Review engineered plans, lift and move plans, JHAs, and project requirements before work begins.
  • Translate those plans into clear direction for the crew.
  • Verify equipment setup, rigging configurations, and load placement before execution.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, daily activities, mobilization, and demobilization.
  • Monitor changing jobsite conditions and adjust the execution plan when necessary.
  • Communicate project progress, equipment needs, concerns, and changing conditions to Project Managers and company leadership.
  • Complete required daily reports and project documentation.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and reinforce jobsite safety expectations.
  • Identify hazards and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Exercise stop-work authority when something isn’t right.

And just as importantly:

You will develop the people working beside you.

Our Superintendents and Foremen are expected to teach, coach, and help develop Leadmen, Riggers, Apprentices, and other members of the crew.

What We’re Looking For

Knowing how to rig a load is important. Knowing how to lead the people rigging it is what separates a field leader from a technician.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Strong knowledge of heavy rigging and specialized transport operations.
  • Hands‑on experience executing complex equipment moves.
  • The ability to understand engineered plans, lift plans, move plans, JHAs, and rigging configurations.
  • Sound judgment around equipment setup, load placement, and field execution.
  • Strong hazard recognition and an unwavering commitment to safety.
  • The ability to organize crews, equipment, and daily jobsite activities.
  • Clear communication with employees, Project Managers, customers, and company leadership.
  • The confidence to make decisions when conditions change.
  • The willingness to stop work when something isn’t right.
  • The ability to teach and develop less‑experienced members of the crew.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone whose crew trusts their judgment.

Why Edwards?

Because if you’ve spent years learning this trade, you should have the opportunity to use everything you know.

At Edwards Moving & Rigging, our Superintendents and Foremen aren’t simply asked to supervise labor.

They’re trusted to lead the work.

At Edwards, you can expect:

  • Challenging projects. Our work involves heavy rigging, specialized transportation, engineered moves, and equipment that most people will never have the opportunity to work around.
  • Serious equipment. Jack-and-slide systems, hydraulic gantries, specialized transport equipment, and other tools of the heavy rigging trade are part of what we do.
  • Real authority. You’re responsible for field execution and have the authority to stop work when conditions aren’t right.
  • Experienced people around you. You’ll work with Project Managers, engineers, operators,…
