Location: Riverside Gardens
Maintenance Mechanic – Louisville
Reports to Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities- Safely inspect, monitor, and maintain plant systems and equipment, including pumps, motors, gearboxes, chillers, reactor tanks, process heaters, and associated instrumentation.
- Conduct preventative maintenance inspections, generate work orders, and perform repairs or rebuilds of valves, pumps, vacuum pumps, condensers, chillers, refrigeration units, and other process equipment.
- Troubleshoot process and equipment issues using a systematic approach, collaborate with production operators, and execute corrective actions to maintain reliable operations.
- Install new equipment and support capital project activities.
- Participate in 5S, root‑cause problem solving, and other continuous‑improvement initiatives.
- Follow written instructions and standard operating procedures with minimal supervision.
- Support all manufacturing operations during assigned shifts.
- Follow proper procedures for handling, storing, and transferring hazardous waste.
- Utilize hand and power tools, slings/rigging equipment, fork truck, scissor lift, and boom lift as required.
- Document all activities in the work order system and communicate progress to relevant stakeholders.
- Understand equipment failures and implement actions to prevent repeat issues, thereby reducing downtime and improving productivity.
- Maintain high hygiene and safety standards in accordance with OSHA and EPA guidelines.
- The facility follows OSHA Process Safety Management and handles highly hazardous chemicals; all PPE requirements must be followed.
- Work is independent yet collaborative across departments to ensure product quality.
- The environment is fast‑paced, requiring safety, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under high‑pressure conditions with competing priorities and minimal supervision.
- Computer use for work order processing and training.
- High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
- Some technical training or college education preferred.
- Industrial process maintenance experience highly valued.
- Minimum 3‑5 years of experience preferred but not required.
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Sound decision‑making and problem‑solving ability.
- Basic computer skills.
- Willingness to learn complex electro‑mechanical systems, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and industrial control systems such as single‑loop controllers and PLCs.
