This is a local, field-based position support ing projects throughout the Greater Washington, D.C. metropolitan area and surrounding Mid-Atlantic markets. Candidates should be based within reasonable commuting distance of Solutionz, Inc.'s Fairfax office. Regular travel to customer job sites is required.
DescriptionThe Technician II is responsible for the installation, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of commercial audiovisual systems for Solutionz customers.
This role serves as a technical lead on assigned projects, coordinating installation activities, ensuring adherence to project documentation, and maintaining Solutionz quality standards throughout the installation process.
The Technician II works closely with Project Managers, Field Engineers, customers, and installation teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and according to schedule.
This position also provides mentorship and guidance to Technician I team members while supporting successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
ResponsibilitiesAttend installation turnover meetings with Project Managers to review project scope, schedules, documentation, and customer requirements.
Review and verify project drawings, specifications, site documentation, photographs, and job-related information prior to mobilization.
Assemble, wire, configure, and test equipment racks according to approved rack build documentation.
Ensure equipment is properly configured, programmed, tested, and prepared before deployment to project sites.
Verify all required tools, hardware, cabling, connectors, and installation materials are available prior to project execution.
Maintain company vehicles, tools, ladders, and safety equipment in a clean, organized, and operational condition.
Coordinate equipment inventory, staging, transportation, and delivery to customer sites.
Verify site readiness, workspace access, work schedules, and installation requirements prior to beginning work.
Install audiovisual systems in accordance with Solutionz standards, project documentation, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes.
Install and terminate low-voltage cabling, audiovisual hardware, displays, projectors, speakers, microphones, cameras, equipment racks, and associated infrastructure.
Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance activities throughout the installation process.
Perform minor DSP modifications, load control system code, and assist with system configuration activities when required.
Troubleshoot installation and integration issues and develop effective solutions to maintain project schedules.
Coordinate daily activities with Project Managers, Field Engineers, programmers, and customers.
Ensure all installation activities comply with local low-voltage requirements, National Electrical Code (NEC), and industry best practices.
Maintain accurate installation documentation, field reports, punch lists, and project records.
Support commissioning, system verification, customer demonstrations, and project closeout activities.
Mentor, train, and provide technical guidance to Technician I team members.
Assist in developing installation best practices and maintaining Solutionz quality standards.
Communicate project status, challenges, and recommendations to Project Managers and Field Engineering teams.
Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain professional relationships with customers and project stakeholders.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
