As a Field
Service Technician
, you’ll be at the heart of what we do:
diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining
Caterpillar machines in the shop. Whether it’s a dozer, excavator, wheel loader, haul truck, you’ll use your skills and experience to deliver top‑tier service that keeps our customers moving. You will work in the shop servicing and performing:

• Diagnostics and repair on heavy equipment, including Caterpillar engines and drive‑train components, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Perform routine and complex repairs, inspect and maintain equipment, and rebuild components to ensure optimal performance.
• Additional duties include maintaining detailed service records, collaborating with fellow technicians on complex repairs, and adhering to all safety protocols within the shop environment.

COMPETENCIES:

• Proficient reading and writing skills
• Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude
• Basic computer literacy
• Familiarity with Caterpillar engine and equipment lines
• In‑depth knowledge of Caterpillar equipment applications, operations, and functions
• Skilled in using Caterpillar diagnostic tools (Electronic Technician, Service Information System‑SIS)
• Expertise in diagnostic, testing, adjustment, and troubleshooting procedures
• Welding experience is a plus

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED is required, along with completion of a technical school program (minimum 2 years) focused on diesel or power equipment systems, plus at least 3 years of relevant industry experience.

Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on mechanical repair experience with diesel, earthmoving, or industrial equipment
