Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following:

• Requires ability to read blueprints, schematic / wiring drawings.
• Requires ability to comprehend verbal/written instructions.
• Requires ability to install and maintain all types of wiring, machinery installs, building projects and lighting systems.
• Requires ability to inspect electrical components, such as bus bars, transformers, circuit breakers, electrical panels and circuit boards.
• Requires ability to identify electrical problems with a variety of testing equipment.
• Requires ability to repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand and power tools.
• Must follow state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code and Arc Flash requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety throughout the department in a prescribed manner.
• Required to have knowledge of all types of Electrician tools needed to perform their assigned tasks.
• All work is subject to final inspection.
• Requires ability to train other maintenance personnel to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment.
• Will be required if needed to work in the Foundry and work some split shifts on occasions.
• Will have the ability to sign off on other maintenance personnel's electrical work.
• At times will need to troubleshoot machine controls and PLCs.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or 2 to 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must also have a Wisconsin State Electrical license.

Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, Blue prints and procedure manuals. Have the ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Have the ability to communicate effectively.

Mathematical Skills
- Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.

Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Have the ability to deal effectively with routine problems and situations.
