What you’ll do
- Fly as single-pilot Captain: Safely and professionally operate King Air aircraft as Pilot Mechanic in Command, exercising sound decision-making to complete each mission.
- Execute mission profiles precisely: Maintain accuracy to dispersal criteria and provide constructive, flight-related input to the base as needed.
- Own the paperwork: Keep disciplined records; complete daily/weekly/monthly reports - maintenance records and timesheets - accurately and on time.
- Communicate clearly: Coordinate effectively with customers and fellow pilots; follow directions and remain on task to meet mission timelines.
- Maintain the aircraft: Disassemble, clean, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair aircraft systems; perform routine and non-routine maintenance in accordance with manuals and requirements.
- Care for the workspace: Keep the shop floor organized, clear of clutter and debris; support a safe, efficient maintenance environment.
- Adapt as needed: Perform other duties as assigned to support mission readiness.
- Pilot qualifications: FAA Commercial with Instrument and Multi-Engine; minimum 1,200 hours total time; able to qualify for single-pilot operations while working effectively in a multi-crew environment.
- Mechanical experience: Proven hands-on background repairing machines; ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and inspect electrical, sheet metal, general airframe, and powerplant systems.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Tools: Provide your own tools (company tools list provided).
- Physical capability: Crawl in/out of tight spaces; work comfortably at heights of at least 40 ft for extended periods; lift/balance/carry 50 lbs; work outdoors in various weather; work in close proximity to others.
- Team mindset: Collaborative, disciplined, and safety-focused with excellent follow-through.
- Multi-engine turboprop experience.
- FAA A&P maintenance certificate.
- PT6 experience, specifically on the King Air 90.
- Fluency in Spanish; prior cross-cultural and foreign-language experience.
- Unique dual-track career: Start as a mechanic and grow into a Pilot/Mechanic Captain role.
- Mission-driven flying: Contribute to programs that support service members, scientific research, and wildfire suppression.
- Hands-on impact: Own both flight execution and aircraft readiness, end to end.
