Description

The Electrical General Foreman provides senior-level leadership and oversight for all electrical and instrumentation work across a large-scale project or multiple project areas. This role is responsible for the overall strategic planning, execution, and performance of the electrical discipline, ensuring that systems are completed safely and turned over for commissioning on schedule.

• Provide high-level supervision and direction to all electrical and instrumentation personnel, including Foremen and Leadmen, ensuring project goals for safety, quality, and productivity are met

• Develop and implement comprehensive work plans for all electrical systems, including the sequencing of installation, testing, and system turnover

• Act as the primary technical authority and point of contact for all electrical matters, liaising with project management, engineering, quality control, and client representatives

• Oversee all major electrical activities, including switch gear installation, major cable pulls, and the energization and commissioning of primary electrical systems

• Drive a culture of safety across all electrical operations, leading safety audits and ensuring rigorous adherence to all Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc flash, and energized work procedures

• Analyze and report on craft performance, productivity, and progress, implementing corrective actions as necessary to maintain schedule and budget

• Manage electrical craft resources and equipment across multiple work areas to support the overall project plan

• Take ultimate responsibility for the quality and functional performance of all installed electrical and instrumentation systems

• Mentor and develop subordinate supervision within the electrical team

• Minimum of 12 years’ experience

• Must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company’s vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company’s Motor Vehicle Safety Policy

• Must be able to assess through Burns and McDonnell assessment program

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, or reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, push and pull

• Ability to use repetitive hand motions and the ability to grasp and operate field tools and equipment

• Ability to climb on, in or through equipment in confined spaces and elevated work using fall protection harnesses

• Ability to work long hours with infrequent days off, night shifts, and in adverse climates

• Ability to use respirators or Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus

• Ability to utilize vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

• Ability to lift, carry and or move up to 50 pounds

• Ability to work in an environment with loud noises and vibrations for extended periods of time

• Ability to properly wear and/or use Personal Protection Equipment

• Ability to seek advice, make decisions, exercise sound judgement, and solve problems

• Ability to work under stressful situations

• Ability to learn and adopt new processes and technology

• Ability to apply verbal and/or written instructions or other information
