Maintenance Engineer

Compensation Range: $24.81 - $37.53.

• Compensation is based on experience, with a range reflecting entry-level candidates through those with 15+ years of experience. Eligible positions may also qualify for additional compensation with applicable shift, weekend, certification, or other differentials.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

• Three (3) years of experience in commercial, institutional, healthcare, industrial, construction, painting, drywall, or facilities maintenance environmentsrequired.
• Experience in a hospital, healthcare, or critical infrastructure environment preferred.
• A validdriverlicense and current statutory limits of auto insurance are required.
• Current ASHE Infection Control Risk Assessment (ICRA) 2.0 Qualification preferred. Employees who do notpossessthe qualification at the time of hire must successfully obtain the ASHE ICRA 2.0 Qualification within six (6) months of hire andmaintainthe qualification thereafter.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation methods, coating systems, drywall repair, patching, finishing, and texture application.
• Knowledge of proper handling, storage, and application of paints, stains, coatings, solvents, adhesives, and related materials.
• Ability to select andutilizeappropriate painting tools, spray equipment, ladders, scaffolding, and related equipment safely and effectively.
• Ability to match existing colors, textures, and finishes whilemaintainingorganizational appearance standards.
• Knowledge of safe operating methods of equipment, tools, and safety regulations used in skilled building maintenance activities.
• Knowledge of basicconstructionmathematics and measurement techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, instructions, blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical documents.
• Ability toutilizecommon computer applications and work-related software systems, including computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Ability to safely and effectivelyoperatehand tools, power tools, testing equipment, gauges, and meters used in facility maintenance activities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and respond effectively to routine and emergency maintenance situations.
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, visitors, staff, contractors, and vendors.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment while performing assigned duties.
• Ability to learn and apply healthcare-specific safety, infection prevention, life safety, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Must successfully complete on-line Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) training courses
  100 & 200 within
  90 daysof employment withadditionalFEMA training to be assigned and ongoing.

Additional Compensation Differential Opportunities:

• Licensed Positions: NOC Shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM): +$3.50/hour. | Weekend Shift (12:00 AM Saturday–11:59 PM Sunday): +$3.00/hour.
• Non-Licensed Positions: NOC Shift (7:00 PM–7:00 AM): +$3.00/hour. | Weekend Shift (12:00 AM Saturday–11:59 PM Sunday): +$2.00/hour.

JOB SUMMARY

Under the daily supervision of the Facilities Manager and general direction of the Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Engineer / Painter performs skilled painting, finishing, surface preparation, drywall repair, maintenance, repair, inspection, testing, installation, and preventive maintenance activities on healthcare facility buildings, infrastructure, utility systems, equipment, and grounds.
