About The Role:Valley Fence is looking for a Welder/Fence Laborer to support both shop fabrication and field installation. This role includes welding gates and panels, as well as assisting with fence installation on job sites.
This is a hands-on position for someone who can weld accurately, work outdoors, and be part of a crew that takes pride in getting the job done right.
What You'll Do:- Weld gates and panels using 16 gauge pipe
- Fabricate fencing components in the shop
- Assist with fence installation on job sites
- Measure, cut, and prepare materials for fabrication and installation
- Read measurements, layouts, and job details to fabricate gates and panels accurately
- Assist with or learn to perform takeoffs, including deductions, spacing, and clearances for proper fit and function
- Set posts, assist with layout, and support fence assembly
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in both shop and field
- Perform daily maintenance and cleanup of tools and equipment
- Support the crew in maintaining steady workflow and minimizing downtime
- Follow direction from foreman and take ownership of assigned work
- Experience welding 16 gauge pipe preferred
- Ability to weld clean, consistent joints suitable for gates and panels
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work both in a shop and outdoor job site environment
- Willingness to perform physical labor alongside welding tasks
- Ability to take direction and work as part of a team
- Basic construction or fabrication experience preferred
- Ability to read measurements and build gates accurately
- Experience with takeoffs, including deductions, spacing, and layout, preferred
- Willingness to learn takeoffs, layout, and gate fabrication as skills develop
- Valid driver’s license (must be insurable)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs regularly
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, rain)
- Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical tasks throughout the day
